Facebook Marketplace home post formatter
Enter the home's beds, baths, price and city, and say whose listing it is. You get a Marketplace title of 100 characters or fewer, a clean price, and a description with the Marketed by line, the Listing courtesy of line and, for another brokerage's listing, the on behalf line, the same lines the Listing AutomatEr app writes. Everything you type stays in your browser. It is not sent to us and it is not stored.
Your formatted post
Before you post
- Check the price, beds and baths against the listing record.
- For a listing that is not yours, get permission from the listing side first.
- Keep the Marketed by and Listing courtesy of lines in the description.
This is general information, not advice. Your brokerage and your state may ask for more lines, so check with your managing broker.
Get this on every listing you have permission to market.
Listing AutomatEr writes your Facebook Marketplace posts with a Marketed by line, a Listing courtesy of line and an on behalf disclosure, so a reader knows whose listing it is. Permission to market a listing is yours to get first.

How to format a home post for Facebook Marketplace
A Marketplace home post has a title, a price, a description and photos. The fields are short, so the order matters. Start with the facts a buyer filters on, describe the home accurately, and end with who is marketing it and who holds the listing.
What the finished post looks like
Title: 3 bed, 2 bath home in Your City One or two accurate lines about the home. Marketed by Your Name ยท Your Brokerage Listing courtesy of Listing Brokerage, marketing on their behalf.
- Title: beds, baths and city. No capital letters for effect, no claims.
- Price: the price on the listing record, nothing rounded.
- Description: true statements about the home, in your own words.
- Credit lines: your name, your brokerage, the listing brokerage, and the on behalf line when the listing is held by another brokerage.
- Check the facts against the listing record before you post.
The same lines are explained line by line in what the listing courtesy line says and what a clearly attributed post looks like.
Common questions
What should a Marketplace home title say?
Beds, baths and the city, in plain words. The formatter keeps it inside the 100 character limit the Listing AutomatEr app uses. Skip capital letters and claims, because the facts do the work.
Which lines does a post for another brokerage's listing need?
The agent marketing the home, the brokerage that holds the listing, and a line saying you are marketing on their behalf. Your state and your brokerage set the exact requirements, so read the rule that applies to you.
Can I post a listing I do not hold?
Only with permission to market it. Your own brokerage's inventory follows its rules. A listing held by another brokerage needs written permission first, usually from the listing agent or the managing broker.
Should I use the words in the listing remarks?
Check them first. The formatter runs a fair housing wording scan on your description and shows what to review.
How many photos should a home post have?
Use a spread of rooms instead of ten shots of one kitchen. See how many photos go on a post.
