Does Listing AutomatEr check that I have permission to post a listing?

No. Listing AutomatEr does not verify permission with your brokerage, the listing agent or anyone else. It asks you to confirm your own brokerage's permission, and it warns you before Post Now when another brokerage's listing has no permission on record. An override in Settings turns these checks off once you type that you accept responsibility. The decision and the responsibility stay with you.

Your own brokerage's listings

The app asks whether you have your broker's permission to market your brokerage's listings. It takes your answer as you give it and does not contact your broker.

Another brokerage's listing

Written permission comes first, usually from the listing agent or the managing broker. If you choose Post Now with no permission on record, the app warns you and says you are responsible. A permission recorded as denied or expired stops Post Now for that listing. Both checks are off while the override in Settings is on.

What the app does not see

It does not read your emails with the listing side, and it does not contact a brokerage to confirm what you tell it. Keep the written yes with your records.

What goes on the post

The post names you and credits the brokerage that holds the listing. On another brokerage's listing it also says you are marketing on that brokerage's behalf. Those lines do not replace permission.

Common questions

Does a home showing in the app mean I may market it?

No. Being in the app is not permission.

Can these checks be turned off?

Yes. An override in Settings turns these checks off once you type that you accept responsibility. You stay responsible for permission whether it is on or off.

Does the warning mean a post is compliant?

No. Rules vary by state, and your brokerage has the final word on what your posts must say.

Where can I get a permission request to send?

The permission letter page on this site is free. Fill in the listing and the time frame, then send it yourself.
