Can realtors post on Facebook Marketplace?

Short answer: yes, with conditions. The question almost every agent is really asking is whether they are allowed to, and the honest answer is that permission is the thing that decides it, not the platform.

Can realtors post on Facebook Marketplace?

Yes. Facebook Marketplace has a property category and agents use it. What decides it is which listings you are permitted to market, and whether the post names the brokerage that holds them. Your own brokerage's inventory follows your brokerage's rules. A listing held by a different brokerage needs written permission from the listing agent or the managing broker first.

Can I post another brokerage's listing?

Only with written permission from the listing agent or the managing broker. That permission normally covers the specific address, how long it lasts, and any conditions that brokerage wants. Getting it is the agent's job, not a software feature.

Do I post from a business page or my personal profile?

Your personal profile. Meta announced on December 29, 2022 that from January 30, 2023 sellers could no longer create real estate and rental listings from a business page on Facebook Marketplace. Person to person listings from a personal profile were not affected, so that is the route agents use now.

Why the post has to name two parties

A compliant post makes clear who is marketing the home and which brokerage holds the listing. Those are often different parties, and a reader who cannot tell them apart has been misled whether or not you meant to. Most states also require the brokerage name in licensed advertising, and several require the listing broker to be named when you advertise a listing that is not your firm's.

Is it against the platform's rules?

Facebook Marketplace has a property category and real estate listings are a normal use of it. Meta's commerce policies govern what may be listed and how. Read them, and follow your brokerage's rules as well.

Where do I find my listings once they are posted?

Your own posts appear under Marketplace, then Selling. If a post is not showing to other people, that is usually a review or a category problem rather than a deletion.

Where we come in

We build Listing AutomatEr, a desktop app for Mac and Windows. You bring the written permission. The app builds the post, puts your name on it as the agent marketing the home, credits the brokerage that holds the listing, adds the disclosure line, and posts to Facebook Marketplace on a schedule. It draws on listing records across Arizona and Colorado.

It does not get the permission for you, and it never will. That part is yours. The permission walkthrough goes through it step by step, and the attribution page shows the exact lines a post carries.

This is general information about how the mechanic works, not legal advice. Real estate advertising rules vary by state and your brokerage's rules are your own. Check both.
